The context

The hospital required an experienced interim leader to oversee its surgical services, providing stability, leadership and operational oversight across a complex perioperative environment.

The successful individual needed to bring significant experience of leading theatres, recovery and associated surgical services, alongside a collaborative leadership style that would enable them to build strong relationships with consultants, clinicians and executive stakeholders. Maintaining patient safety, supporting operational performance and ensuring robust clinical governance were central to the brief.
